First Post ~ Why I Chose to Start Blogging

I have always been a unmotivated person, who always needs to be pushed and guided towards a direction. As of now, I am lost in a field of fascinating yet daunting careers, in search of my passion and what I want to be in the future. It seems that I am continuously surrounded by talented people and as a result, I feel worthless, unworthy and the worst of all, disconnected with others, and perhaps even my friends.

That is why I started to try out different hobbies, particularly ones that could help generate a side income for me in the future, rather than just wasting my time (e.g. just playing games). I have always enjoyed leisure activities like playing games and watching anime, and that is why I went back to creating Youtube videos after almost a 3 year hiatus from my channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/GameMythics/videos). I really enjoyed editing and creating videos, even though sometimes it does not bear fruit. I also started drawing again, and I have to admit that I am terrible at drawing and even have a terrible imagination. Furthermore, I also wanted to learn some new languages - Mandarin and Japanese, so I could one day travel and perhaps get a job at places other than my homeland. As I found with any other useful skills, I am learning these two languages slowly so I can develop long-term memory, as well as having enough time for university studies.

And now the main reason for this post - Why I chose to start blogging. English was not my strongest suit, and what made it worse was that I didn't read that many books. However, there were a couple of books that really engaged me, particularly Mystery novels (the first one I started was Stephen Leather's Jack Nightingale series), and I realised that I really wanted to improve my writing, so that perhaps I can make some side income by becoming a freelance writer. Mangas has also sometimes caught my eye about various themes that I was interested in (predominantly mystery and "slice of life").

Anyway, I hope I will be received well and I will be posting various things on my blog, ranging from various topics. Some could be about my hobbies (anime, gaming), some food for thought posts, real-life accounts, or anything that I find would be interesting to share for people to read. Until next time, have a good day!
