Anime Review: Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet (Romeo and Juliet Anime Form)

Romeo and Juliet has always been a trope used in romance stories, and sometimes that can get very stale. Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet uses this trope and they aren't afraid to show that they are heavily basing it on Romeo and Juliet. Our main characters are named Romio Inuzuka and Juliet Persia, so viewers know that it's definitely based off Romeo and Juliet.

What I like about this series is that whilst it uses the Romeo and Juliet trope, it's a less tragic version, but we still see how Romio and Juliet are in love with each other, but can only show this intimate relationship away from the student's eyes. The story is essentially them trying to hide their relationship because many people would not be pleased with it, and it would also ruin the image of the two main groups in the school. There is one point in the anime where they always get caught for this relationship, but they proved it by almost killing each other. It just shows how much trust/love they have in each other.
Another aspect I like about this anime are the waifus and also the husbandos I guess. You got so many good waifus and my personal favourite is Hasuki, since she's one of the only ones that know of Romio and Juliet's relationship, and she also has a crush on Romio. Maybe it's just me, but I just like her character design (smart, good-looking, strong...). The guys are pretty good too. Chizuru Maru is a little cheeky bugger, but he's a badass and you can see his soft spots for his boys. Scott, however, is DansGame because he is purposely used as annoying character.

Overall, Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet is a good romance anime that is not afraid to show that they based it on Romeo and Juliet. Furthermore, they utilized it effectively and the creator of the series created a lot of good characters. If you want a decent romance story, I recommend watching this series. There's nothing to hate about this anime.

Overall Score: 8/10
Story: 8/10
Characters: 8/10
Art: 8/10
Sound: 8/10
Enjoyment: 8/10
