Anime Review: Boku no Kanojo ga Majimesugiru Sho-bitch na Ken (My Girlfriend is a ShoBitch)

Perverted anime are the usual trend in this day and age since fanservice is always going to entice people into watching something. Add a quirky title and sex jokes and you get My Girlfriend is a ShoBitch. I remember looking through that season's airing anime and this anime peeked my interest but I didn't watch it until much later since I had a feeling that it was gonna be really awkward with sex jokes. Nevertheless, I persevered and eventually watched it since it's a quirky anime and I haven't really encountered any anime that utilized sex jokes as its main plot tool. 

Anyway, My Girlfriend is a Shobitch is a unique anime to say the least, and depends on how much " cringe" you can tolerate, many may drop this series since some of the sex jokes are too corny or too weird. However, some of them are actually pretty good and made me chuckle and it's something that some couple would say to one another in high school. The misunderstandings are usually the best parts since I didn't expect some of the jokes. Whilst there are good jokes, there are also random sex jokes that seemed out of place or felt forced since its main plot tool was sex jokes. The author seemed to just chuck every sex joke there is and make every situation sexualized. Sometimes that can get a bit annoying, which makes the anime hard to watch. However, if you looking for something with a serious plot, you ain't gonna find it here since its a sexualised slice-of-lice anime.

The animation is pretty decent considering its a "unpopular" series and particularly something that was based on sex jokes. I would have expected some shoddy animation, but the animation was generally well done. The voice acting is pretty good, and not cringy, despite the uncomfortable/out-of-place jokes, so good on them. The OP and ED are ok, but nothing that's gonna make it memorable or make me wanna sing and dance to the tune. 

Overall, My Girlfriend is a Shobitch was better than I expected, but it's not something I would recommend to everyone because everyone has different tastes and different tolerances for "cringiness". If this anime was on your anime list since it peeked your interest during that particularly season (like me), I would probably watch other shows before this one. However, if you are bored and you want something out of the ordinary, no harm in watching this and if you don't like it, you can always just drop it. It's only a 10 episode series, but there's an extra episode that shows the "resolution" from the "cliffhanger" at episode 10.
