Goblin Slayer sure has stirred up some controversy when its anime adaptation first aired in Fall 2018 and the anime was decent and adapted most of the good stuff (when compared to what is available in manga form as of July 2019). Goblin Slayer: Brand New Day is a spin-off that is an antithesis of the main story Goblin Slayer. It's more light-hearted and mainly highlights what else happens in the world of Goblin Slayer. I started reading this when it was just started being scanlated back in 2018.
Despite being a spin-off, the art style was very different to the main story and even to the other side story (Goblin Slayer: Year One), and I found that a bit off-putting since the art seems less polished and less suitable for characters in Goblin Slayer. Perhaps this was the different way the artist drew the characters. The only character that looked similar to the original is Goblin Slayer himself (no surprise). In my opinion, this spin-off was just not needed since it didn't feel consistent to Goblin Slayer and felt like there was really no purpose of having side stories like this, especially with a series like Goblin Slayer. For me, side stories need to have a purpose (e.g. Year One was the prequel to Goblin Slayer), and Brand New Day didn't seem to enrich the world of the main story.
The content also wasn't not that amazing either, and I personally don't think it's worth the price if you are thinking of buying it in physical form (it costs as much as the main story). However, it's only 10 chapters + 2 side chapters (most likely going to be only 3 volumes at most), so it's not that big of an investment. Nevertheless, I recommend spending money to buy the main story or for other series. If you are reading it online, it's not going to take too much of your time either, but I personally wouldn't recommend it as it doesn't really add value to the main story. Perhaps I'm being too harsh on it since it's so different to the main story, but it's just not to my taste.
