Anime Review: Nana Maru San Batsu - FASTEST FINGER IN THE EAST

It's been a while since I written an anime review so I may be a bit rusty but hopefully I will get back on schedule because I have been watching long anime series like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure that I personally don't feel like that it needs to be reviewed since people will flock to it if they go on r/animemes. Anyway, I recently watched Nana Maru San Batsu, an anime about quiz games. I know it sound boring right? Perhaps it is but the opening song was what drawn my interest to this anime.

Like the synopsis of the anime suggests, it's about a group of high school students that joins a club involving competitive quiz games so a good player would buzz the fastest. To be honest, there's nothing really special about this anime. It's just your high school anime, with the element of quick buzzing for the quiz games. The characters are also nothing special, so nothing much to say here. However, the quiz games were actually pretty interesting, and I love the explanation of some of the tactics used during these quiz games, which enable players to strategically buzz in early. One example of this is that if there are 4 possible answers to a question, you can eliminate specific answers if 2 of the answers are synonymous with each other, players can buzz in early if they hear the word "2", so they can just answer with the other 2 answers that are different to another.

Overall, I found this anime somewhat average, and I was surprised that it wasn't as bad as I initially thought it would be. I had this anime downloaded and didn't watch it for almost half a year, and I wasn't going to watch it until I realised that I didn't download any new anime during the exam period so I had to settle with it. The Opening for this anime is lit though. If you get bored easily, don't watch this anime because the subject of the anime is pretty boring already. To be honest, I wouldn't really recommend anyone to go watch this right now because it is mediocre with only some interesting explanation of tactics.
